GRAND CYPRESS DOCTORS PAVILION

Location: Cypress, TX

Owner: North Cypress Land Ventures, LLC

Project Overview

Grand Cypress Doctors Pavilion is the first completed building within Grand Cypress Medical Pavilions, a major new healthcare campus located near the intersection of U.S. Highway 290 and the Grand Parkway in Cypress, Texas.

Developed by physician-led North Cypress Land Ventures, the three-story medical office building encompasses approximately 61,000 square feet and serves as the first phase of a planned 30-acre healthcare campus. The facility includes a 12,000-square-foot endoscopy surgery center along with space for multidisciplinary medical practices including imaging, plastic surgery and general medical care.

Designed by Davis Stokes Collaborative Architects and constructed by CONAR Building Group, Grand Cypress Doctors Pavilion combines a contemporary architectural expression with the specialized performance requirements of a modern healthcare facility.

Binswanger Glass provided an extensive architectural glazing package encompassing curtain wall, storefront, entrances, specialty interior glass, glass handrails, transaction windows and fire-rated glazing systems. The combination of expansive exterior glass and carefully coordinated interior glazing contributes to a bright, contemporary environment designed around patients, physicians and visitors.

Key Features & Glazing Details

A Contemporary Glass-Forward Healthcare Facility

Binswanger Glass installed Kawneer Clearwall® curtain wall and 451T storefront systems throughout the project. The glazed exterior brings natural light into the building while creating the transparent, contemporary appearance that defines the facility.

The primary exterior systems include Kawneer Clearwall® SSI curtain wall with 2-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ framing and Kawneer 451T storefront with 2″ x 4-1/2″ framing.

High-Performance Insulating Glass

Binswanger installed insulating glass fabricated by Trulite Glass & Aluminum Solutions. The primary 1-inch insulating glass units incorporate 1/4-inch SNR 43 clear tempered glass, a 1/2-inch airspace and 1/4-inch clear tempered glass. Spandrel areas use a corresponding 1-inch insulating glass configuration with a black spandrel coating on the No. 4 surface.

Storefronts and Entrance Systems

Binswanger’s scope included multiple entrance and door systems serving different areas and functions throughout the medical facility. The project incorporates Kawneer medium-stile doors, a Stanley Dura-Glide 3000 automatic sliding entrance, and CRL all-glass doors with tapered top and bottom rails.

Fire-Rated Glazing

Specialized fire-rated glazing was incorporated into the project using a TGP 2″ x 4-3/8″ 60-minute fire-rated aluminum storefront system paired with a TGP Designer Series 60-minute fire-rated storefront door. The assemblies incorporate 7/8-inch Pilkington Pyrostop® 60-minute fire-rated glazing, providing required fire protection while preserving transparency between interior spaces.

A dormakaba ED100 automatic operator was integrated with the fire-rated entrance system, combining life-safety performance with accessible operation.

Interior All-Glass Doors and Specialty Glazing

Glass continues throughout the interior, where Binswanger installed CRL all-glass doors incorporating tapered top and bottom rails. Additional glass included 3/4-inch clear tempered, 1/2-inch clear tempered and 1/4-inch clear tempered glazing, allowing the glazing package to address a range of architectural and functional conditions throughout the building.

Glass Handrails

Binswanger installed glass handrails using CRL B5S Series base shoe systems with 9/16-inch Starphire® laminated glass. The low-iron Starphire glass provides exceptional clarity while the base-shoe system minimizes visible framing, creating an open architectural feature that complements the building’s broader use of glass.

Transaction Windows

The project also includes CRL Daisy transaction sliders, extending Binswanger’s scope into the building’s patient-facing and administrative spaces. These specialty glazing systems support day-to-day healthcare operations while maintaining the clean, coordinated appearance of the surrounding interior glass.
