Mayfair Elementary School is a new, state-of-the-art campus for the rapidly growing Comal Independent School District in New Braunfels, Texas. Opened in Fall 2025, this 112,229-square-foot facility was designed by LPA Design Studios to serve 850 students from Pre-K through 5th grade. Innovative Design: The school’s design, inspired by the natural beauty of New Braunfels’ rivers, creates a dynamic and engaging environment for young learners. Built by Bartlett Cocke General Contractors, the project utilized high-performance materials to ensure safety and durability. Binswanger Glass contributed to the project’s success through expert glazing solutions. Glazing Package: Mayfair Elementary School features a comprehensive suite of high-performance products designed for functionality, energy efficiency, and safety. The building envelope utilizes Kawneer’s 1600 Wall System®1 curtain wall alongside their Trifab® VersaGlaze® 451T and 601T storefront framing systems. This combination provides a durable and thermally efficient exterior. Entrances are secured with Kawneer 500T Insulpour® thermal doors, while interior transitions are managed with the Kawneer 1010 Sliding Mall Front system. Quality Construction: The insulating glass units, fabricated by Trulite Glass & Aluminum Solutions, consists of Vitro Architectural Glass’s Solarban® 60 paired with Pacifica® glass, offering excellent solar control to manage heat gain and reduce energy costs while maintaining clear views. To meet the school’s stringent safety requirements, the glazing package was enhanced with safety film from Window Film Depot and specialized ballistic-rated windows provided by Total Security Solutions. This integrated approach ensures the building is not only aesthetically pleasing and energy-conscious but also a secure environment for students and staff.
