BIG STAR HONDA | HOUSTON, TX

Location: Houston, TX

Owner: Ken Garff Automotive Group

Project Overview

Big Star Honda’s renovated Houston dealership brings a fresh, modern look to one of the Gulf Freeway’s recognizable automotive retail destinations. Designed to elevate the customer experience while supporting daily dealership operations, the updated facility features a clean exterior presence, expansive showroom glazing, and a bright, open interior environment.

Binswanger Glass installed the project’s storefronts, curtain walls, partitions, interior glass railings, and mirrors. The glazing package plays a central role in the dealership’s transformation, creating strong visibility from the exterior while helping the showroom feel open, polished, and connected to the vehicles, service areas, and customer spaces inside.

The completed project reflects the demands of modern automotive design: high-clarity glass, durable entrance systems, branded architectural finishes, and interior transparency that supports both sales activity and customer comfort.

Key Features & Glazing Details

Modern Automotive Showroom Design
Binswanger Glass installed the curtain wall and storefront systems that define the dealership’s refreshed exterior. The expansive glass frontage gives Big Star Honda a sharp, contemporary appearance while allowing natural light to fill the showroom and create a more welcoming experience for customers.

High-Clarity Exterior Glass
The exterior glazing features 1” insulated glass units with Vitro Starphire glass and Solarban ® 90 solar control low‑e glass, supporting clear views, daylight, and solar performance. This glass selection helps balance the bright, transparent aesthetic of the showroom with the performance needs of a high-traffic dealership environment.

Storefront, Curtain Wall, and Interior Glass Systems
The project incorporates Kawneer curtain wall and thermal storefront systems, along with interior Kawneer framing. Together, these systems support the building’s clean geometry, strong sightlines, and durable day-to-day performance.

Interior Transparency and Customer Experience
Binswanger Glass also installed partitions, mirrors, and interior glass railings, contributing to a more open and refined dealership environment. These interior glass elements help organize the space while maintaining visibility, daylight, and a premium showroom feel.

Glass Railings and Architectural Finishes
The interior glass railing system uses a CR Laurence 4” base shoe with 1/2” clear laminated glass. The project also includes CARVART back-painted black, fully opaque tempered laminated glass wall cladding, adding a sleek architectural finish that complements the dealership’s modern brand presentation.

Built for an Active Retail Environment
From the showroom facade to the interior glass details, the glazing package was selected and installed to support the realities of an active automotive facility. The result is a durable, high-impact dealership design that enhances curb appeal, customer flow, and the overall sales and service experience.
